William Weldon Wood Obituary

CLAYTON, MI
William Weldon Wood, 72, of Clayton died Wednesday, June 11, 
2014, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Sept. 9, 
1941, in Adrian, Mich., to William and Betty (Estes) Wood. On 
Feb. 2, 1963, he married Betty Jean Spaur in Adrian. William 
had been employed by Ervin Industries for 11 years and also by 
Merillat Industries, retiring in September 2003. He enjoyed 
sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. William 
loved working on Pontiacs, playing slow-pitch softball and 
working in his yard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William III 
(Tracie) Wood of Adrian; two daughters, Jacquelin (Randy) Marks 
and Lisa (Tony) Gallatin, both of Adrian; a sister, Marjorie 
(Billy) Gary of Clayton; six grandchildren, Justin Marks, 
Randee Roan, Michael Gallatin and Payton, Taylor and Lyndon 
Wood; three great-grandchildren, Braelee and Braysan Roan and 
Elliot Marks; and his best companions, Brandy and Maggie. He 
was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. According to William’s request there 
will be no visitation or funeral services.
